YouTube for Android gets video-trimming feature, provides inline previews

Google has updated YouTube for Android with new tweaks for creators. These tweaks include a video-trimming feature and inline video preview.

With video-trimming feature on YouTube for Android, YouTube creators can now easily select the exact frame on their timeline where the video should have to start and end. This means that the creators can easily trim off the unwanted parts in their videos directly from the Android app.

To trim the uploaded videos, creators just need to drag the control handles to the points at which they want their video begin and end. The app additionally provides the ability to get a closer view simply by touch and hold on the handles.

Once the trimming done, the video can be previewed using the new inline video preview feature and then uploaded to YouTube network right from the app.

Google has additionally made the upload capability faster on YouTube for Android to let creators upload their new video content on the video streaming network at a faster speed than before.

Both the new features will be available from server side but it is recommended to have the latest YouTube app version on an Android device.

Google has not yet revealed any details about the arrival of both the new features to its iOS counterpart. However, they are expected to be available in the coming future to provide a unified video uploading experience across mobile devices.
