After much anticipation, Xiaomi is all set to conduct the open sale of its Redmi Note 3 in India. The affordable smartphone will be available without any prior registration starting June 1.
Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain in a recent tweet announced the Redmi Note 3 open sale. Jain also revealed that the flagship Mi 5 will go on sale without registrations.
Both the new smartphones will be available through the open sale on June 1, starting 10 a.m. While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be offered via Mi India website as well as Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal, the Mi 5 will be exclusively available on Mi India website.
Beijing-based Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 3 and Mi 5 in India back in March. Both the smartphones were available through weekly flash sale rounds until today. However, the new open sale emerges to make the competition tougher in the market.
The Redmi Note 3 is available with an initial price of Rs. 9,999. It features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution. Under the hood, there is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset with a 1.4GHz hexa-core CPU and up to 3GB of RAM.
The smartphone has a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor, 5-megapixel front camera sensor and a fingerprint sensor. Additionally, it has up to 32GB onboard storage and packs a 4,050mAh battery.
Unlike the pocket-friendly Redmi Note 3, the Xiaomi Mi 5 comes under the mid-range market segment with a price tag of Rs. 24,999. It has a 5.15-inch 1080p display and a Snapdragon 820 processor. Furthermore, there is a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor, 4-megapixel front camera sensor and a 3,000mAh battery.
Both the Xiaomi smartphones run on Android Lollipop with MIUI 7 on top. Also, there is an infrared (IR) blaster and a premium metal body.
