Xiaomi Mi3 to go on one-day sale in India on this Republic Day

Amid the open sale of the Redmi Note 4G, Xiaomi Mi3 is coming back in India. The Chinese company is apparently in plans to clear all the remaining stock of its old flagship smartphone by hosting a one-day sale in the country.

Xiaomi has scheduled the one-day sale of the Mi3 smartphone for this Republic Day to please buyers who were eagerly waiting for the smartphone since its formal discontinuation in August last year. The sale will be hosted through Flipkart and will be based on its previously introduced flash sale model.

To purchase the Mi3, this time customers need to visit Xiaomi Mi3 webpage at sharp 12noon on January 26 and submit their Flipkart registered email address. Thereafter, the smartphone will be automatically added to their carts and they just need to log into their Flipkart account at 5pm on the same day to secure their order by completing the transaction.

Beijing-based Xiaomi launched the Mi3 in India in July last year with a price tag of Rs. 13,999. The smartphone has high-end specifications which include a 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, paired with 2GB of RAM. There is non-expandable 16GB internal storage and the smartphone has a 13-megapixel rear camera along with dual-LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera.

The Mi3 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system along with Xiaomi’s proprietary MIUI skin on top. It has Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS, NFC and a microUSB port on the connectivity front and packs with a 3,050mAh battery.

Alongside bringing back the Mi3 for a day on Flipkart, Xiaomi is all-set to launch the Mi4 as its new flagship smartphone in India on Wednesday. The Mi4 smartphone is an upgraded model over the Mi3 with an all-new built that has a combination of metal and plastic and has a thin-bezel display and an Infrared (IR) blaster as some of the major new upgrades.

The Mi4 is expected to be available in the country through Flipkart in the first week of February with an under Rs. 20,000 price tag.
