While chip makers and smartphone vendors are striving to persuade consumers with their quad-, hexa- and octa-core offerings, Zopo on Wednesday brought its Speed 8 with a deca-core processor. The new smartphone was unveiled by MotoGP racer Jorge Lorenzo at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

The Zopo Speed 8 is touted as the world’s first deca-core smartphone as it is powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6797 (Helio X20) chipset that has 10 cores of ARM Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T880 MP4 GPU. The Chinese company claims that the presence of the all-new Helio X20 enables the smartphone to “handle anything”. Moreover, the flagship smartphone features a 5.5-inch GFF display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution.
