WhatsApp on iOS now lets you share photos and videos from third-party apps

WhatsApp has released a new update for iOS. The updated WhatsApp for iOS (version 2.12.14) is designed with third-party apps integration to let you share photos and videos from places other than your media library.

The updated WhatsApp app allows you to share your photos and videos directly from apps like Google Drive, Dropbox or Microsoft OneDrive. You need to tap the Upload button from the top-left side of your keyboard and then select ‘Photo/Video Library’. After that, you’ll see an option ‘Choose from another app…’ at the bottom that enables sharing from third-party apps.

In addition to the new option for sharing photos and videos, the updated app lets you set a solid color for your chat background. You can select from a variety of available solid colors by going to ‘Chat Wallpaper’ option in ‘Chat’ settings.

The updated WhatsApp also has the feature to let you zoom in on videos when they’re being played in your chats. This means that you just need to use ‘pinch to zoom’ gesture on videos that are shared on the instant messaging app to watch some closer moves.

To get all the new features, you must need to download the updated WhatsApp for iOS directly from Apple App Store. The app is 56.7MB in size and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running on at least iOS 6.0.

The new update emerges days after WhatsApp announced its end of support for BlackBerry 10 and Nokia platforms. That development will help the Facebook-owned company sharpen its focus towards Android and iOS developments to expand its existing user base of over a billion users.
