WhatsApp for Windows Phone gets major update with fixes for notifications

WhatsApp is one of the renowned instant messaging client on across major mobile platforms. Now WhatsApp for Windows Phone got major update with a number of new features and fixes for push notifications. While WhatsApp client for Windows Phone platform earlier not as stable as the client available on Android and iOS, the new update to version 2.10.491.0 makes WhatsApp app stable and easier to use on Windows Phone platform as well.

WhatsApp for Windows Phone now has improved push notifications with several bug fixes. The app also brings a new feature as Fast Resume which allows to open the client faster, right from new notifications. The new WhatsApp client initiates voice calls right from the app. The app also bundled with Background API which provides an option to flawlessly play music in background while using the app or chatting with the friends.

The new WhatsApp has a number of smileys and emoticons to share emotions live with friends. The app also has some issues fixed which occurred earlier with the double-wide live tile on the homescreen. Users can now take backup of their chat history right from the start-up message or by going through settings. Besides, the app now shows large images shared by the users, quite similar to Android client.

Windows Phone 7.5 and Windows Phone 8 users can now download the new WhatsApp client from Windows Phone store.
