Vodafone India today formally launched its anticipated 4G services in Delhi and NCR region. The new launch comes following the rollout of Vodafone 4G in Kerala, Karnataka and Kolkata.
Using 1800MHz frequency band, Vodafone 4G services will be rolled out across all parts of Delhi and NCR in a phased manner. These services are designed to deliver high-speed data access via 4G-enabled mobile handsets as well as are capable of offering fast network through smart devices such as mobile Wi-Fi dongle. The operator is offering a free upgrade to existing customers along with 4G SIM swaps across the capital city.

To persuade customers, Vodafone is giving away free three months access to TV, movies and music content through Vodafone Play on its 4G network. Also, it has partnered with HOOQ and Hungama to offer buffer-less experience on latest videos and movies.
Existing Vodafone subscribers can avail 4G services through a trial pack of 35MB at Rs. 11. Also, there is a bonanza pack of 20GB at Rs. 2,499.
“Beginning with key business and residential corridors in NCR across Gurgaon, which today constitute more than 10 percent of our data users, we will soon expand our 4G services across the length and breadth of Delhi in a phased manner,” said Apoorva Mehrotra, business head — Delhi and NCR circle, Vodafone India.
Vodafone India has invested over Rs. 800 crores in the financial year 2016 to expand its presence in Delhi and NCR region. It has 273 exclusive Vodafone stores, including 52 large retail format and 221 Mini stores.
After the Delhi and NCR region, Vodafone 4G services will be available in Mumbai and Bengaluru by March this year. The new services take on Airtel 4G by offering international roaming on 4G LTE to its Indian customers visiting UK, Romania, Spain and Netherlands.
