Viber for Windows Phone 8 updates with Sticker Market and new features
VoIP app Viber has got an update for Windows Phone 8 to version 4.0. Along with a list of new features, Viber 4.0 for Windows Phone 8 has Sticker Market integration which allows to download free as well as paid stickers. The update is considered as a major step towards bringing the Windows Phone 8 version of Viber in-line with other versions of the app.
Israel-based Viber added Sticker Market to its mobile apps back in November as a source of monetization. Now, Viber has announced that users have downloaded over 100 million sticker packs. The company is now planning to hit larger figures in a lesser time span which is the reason, Viber for Windows Phone 8 has also got Sticker Market.
Aside Sticker Market, Viber 4.0 for Windows Phone 8 has more details when a message has been seen and when a contact is online. Users will now get “Seen” status when their messages have been viewed and “Last online” status lets users to know when contacts are online. The updated app provides improved quality of photo thumbnails in conversations and descriptions can be added to photos.
After updating the Viber to version 4.0, users will be able to hide notification content and notification sounds will be used for incoming push notifications. Besides, the updated app has improved speed, enhanced delivery of push notifications and emoji to emoticon translation to ensure cross-platform compatibility.
Though there is a decent list of new features added in the Viber 4.0 update, the app still does not come with Viber Out feature which provides premium calling to non-Viber users on Android, iOS and Windows 8.
