Twitter reports over 215m monthly active users, 500m tweets per day
Amid the publicize of IPO filing, Twitter has reported over 215 million monthly active users and more than 100 million daily active users on its micro-blogging network. With such huge users base, the network sees 500 million tweets per day.
Twitter has stated that the figure of 218.3 million average monthly active users reported on the basis of statistics recorded for the three months ended June 30, 2013. The figure itself is certainly huge when comparing with the 151.4 million average monthly active users reported for the three months span ended June 30, last year. In the total figure, 75 percent of average monthly active users accessed Twitter from mobile devices, including mobile phones, smartphones and tablets.
Apart from monthly active users, Twitter is now becomes a way to spread messages across the world and over one million third-party websites have embedded Tweets globally. However, Facebook is the most popular social network but Twitter is also marking success with a large base of its users, especially with world leaders, government officials, celebrities, athletes, journalists, sports teams, media outlets and brands.
Twitter is expecting more users from emerging regions, including Argentina, France, Japan, Russia, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. The micro-blogging network would soon have more local contents as the company is in plans to develop a broad set of partnerships globally. With targeting mobile users on top, Twitter has promised to continue its development and improvement in mobile applications avenue.
