Twitter account of Thomson Reuters got hacked last night by Syrian Electronic Army. The @ThomsonReuters account was suspended after an hour of being hacked by the hackers group.
According to a report by AllThingsD, the hackers group managed to tweet links to at least seven images after hacking the Thomson Reuters Twitter account. The attackers posted suspicious tweets supporting Syrian president Bashar Al-Assad along with a hashtag as #Syria. The account got hacked at about 6:30 pm ET (4 am IST).
The Syrian Electronic Army has been in the news from recent weeks. The group had attacked several renowned media accounts this year, including CBS, Guardian, The Financial Times and some others. Recently, the attackers have also targeted the popular directory service TrueCaller. Soon after being a victim of the attack, TrueCaller team had also acknowledged the same in an official statement.
