Teewe app now available for Windows Phone

Just a few days after the launch of Teewe 2 media streaming dongle in India, Bengaluru-based Mango Man has now released Teewe app for Windows Phone. The app has all the features that were earlier exclusive to Android and iOS platforms.

Teewe for Windows Phone works with Teewe 2 dongle to let users stream videos to their HDTVs directly through compatible smartphones. Users can access to online and offline media content directly through the new app on their Windows Phone devices.

On announcing the release of Windows Phone app, Sai Srinivas, CEO, Mango Man Consumer Electronics, said:

“We were able to very quickly ramp up this development thanks to the guidance and close support of the Microsoft Team. Despite the speed of development, no compromises were made on the user experience across screen sizes etc. The result is one of the most beautiful ways to stream YouTube and other content on your big screen for Windows Users in India till date. We really hope this fulfils the gap felt by the Windows ecosystem when it comes to options for streaming their content on the big screen.”

Once installed, Teewe app allows users to access content directly from YouTube as well as photos, videos and music from their smartphones. The company has also partnered with Eros Now to provide a free two-month subscription with every new Teewe 2 dongle.

Similar to Google Chromecast, Teewe 2 dongle enables users to cast select on-screen content from their smartphones. This means that users can watch content directly from their desktop or notebook using the new Teewe app on a Windows Phone device.

Commenting on the announcement, Joseph Landes, General Manager – Developer Experience, Microsoft Corp (India), said:

“Teewe is one of the most popular ways available for Indian consumers to enhance their entertainment experience. We are excited to offer the Teewe app on the Windows Store and believe that our consumers will be able to now transform their television into an all-round entertainment centre with the help of their Windows devices.”

Teewe for Windows Phone is available for free download through Windows Phone Store. It is compatible with devices running on Windows Phone 8.1 and is 5MB in size.

The app requires Teewe 2 dongle for its operations, which is available in India with a price tag of Rs. 2,399. The company has partnered with Amazon India to start selling the dongle online in the country.

Teewe 2 comes with 60GB free data from Airtel Broadband and offers HDMI connectivity.
