Teewe app lags on mobile devices
Often gets disconnected
Requires high-speed Wi-Fi connection
The Teewe 2 appears to be the closest Chromecast competitor in India. However, its app currently lags a bit on mobile devices, and the dongle requires a high-speed data connection to stream media content on an HDTV.
When it comes to live streaming on an HDTV, Google Chromecast comes first in mind. This was launched in India late last year. The Chromecast is still one of the simplest solutions to live stream media content. But there is a startup in the Indian market, called Mango Man, which introduced the Teewe last year as a Chromecast competitor. The Teewe had the same HD media streaming capabilities that debuted on the Chromecast and was specifically designed for the Indian viewers. The company tweaked the dongle with all the necessary improvements and recently launched Teewe 2. This new media streaming dongle is smaller than the original Teewe and has some new features as well as improvements to deliver viewers a refreshed, Chromecast-like live streaming experience on their HDTVs. We used the Teewe 2 at our labs from the last couple of weeks to cover its in-depth review. So here are our words.
What’s in the Box
The Teewe 2 comes with a price tag of Rs. 2,399 and is available in a rectangular cardboard box that is designed to take on the Chromecast. Once unboxed, it shows the HDMI dongle on top.
Underneath the Teewe 2 unit, there is an HDMI extension cable and a quick start guide. The box also contains an AC adapter to power the HDMI dongle and a USB-to-microUSB cable. These two additional inputs make the Teewe 2 a bit better than the Chromecast.

Similar to the first-generation Teewe and the Google Chromecast, the Teewe 2 is designed with a black-color plastic built that has a matte finish on top. The built is claimed to be 30 percent smaller than the original Teewe and is even a bit smaller than the Chromecast.
The front side of the Teewe 2 sports Teewe branding. Unlike the Chromecast, there isn’t any LED notification light on the front side but the company has provided a gold-plated HDMI connector to deliver similar results.
The Teewe 2 has a microUSB port and a reset button on the top side and there is a blue-color LED notification light on the bottom.
Besides, there are some vents on the rear side of the Teewe 2 to prevent any heating issue.
Overall, the design of the Teewe 2 is much improved from the original Teewe. The dongle has 2.6 x 9 x 4.6 mm dimensions.
