Symphony roar A50 Android One smartphone launched with entry-level specs

As Google recently announced the expansion of its Android One initiative outside India, Symphony Mobile has launched the Symphony roar A50 as its first Android One smartphone. This new smartphone has now been available in Bangladesh, alongside the three other Android One smartphones, with a price tag of BDT 8,700 (approximately Rs. 7,100).

The Symphony roar A50 has almost the same specifications as the other Android One smartphones, including Karbonn Sparkle V, Micromax Canvas A1 and Spice Dream Uno. However, Google may provide localised content on the software front to make some distinction.

The smartphone features a 4.5-inch IPS display with 854 x 480 pixels (FWVGA) resolution and is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core Cortex-A7 CPU, Mali-400 MP2 GPU and 1GB of RAM. There is 5-megapixel rear camera sensor and a 2-megapixel front camera sensor.

Unlike the other three Android One smartphones, the Symphony roar A50 has 8GB internal storage instead 4GB on the other ones and packs with a larger battery pack of 1,780mAh capacity.

As Android One is projected to provide the latest Android experience even under the entry-level segment, the Symphony roar A50 runs on Android 4.4.4 KitKat operating system out of the box and will soon likely to receive an update to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
