Surface Pro 4 officially coming to India in January 2016

Apart from revealing the launch schedule for the new Lumia flagships, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella at the Future Unleashed event on Thursday announced that the Surface Pro 4 is set to be launched in India in January 2016. The Surface Pro 4 will be the first Surface tablet model that the software giant has scheduled to launch in the country.

Nadella didn’t reveal any details about the price of the Surface Pro 4 during his keynote. However, it is expected to come with a starting price of about Rs. 60,000. Online retailer eBay India has already listed the tablet for Rs. 87,999.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is the company’s first Surface tablet with Windows 10 operating system. The tablet is designed to take on the recently unveiled Apple iPad Pro and is featuring a 12.3-inch display with PixelTouch technology and 2736 x 1824 pixels resolution. Under the hood, it has six-generation Intel Core processors with up to Intel Iris Graphics and 16GB of RAM. There is up to 1TB storage and an embedded battery pack to deliver up to nine hours of mixed usage.

Micosoft claims that the Surface Pro 4 is up to 30 percent faster than the previous Surface tablet and 50 percent faster than the latest Apple MacBook Air. It has an 8-megapixel rear camera sensor, 5-megapixel front camera sensor and a Surface Pen integration. Also, the tablet supports a new Type Cover that has a built-in keyboard for typing and there is a fingerprint sensor to deliver a secure computing experience.
