Sony has just launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z in the Indian market with the price tag of Rs.36,990 at press event in New Delhi. The Xperia Z will reach the market by March 12th and consumers can purchase the smartphone from all the exclusive retail stores and online stores on the same day.
Sony Xperia Z smartphone was announced at CES 2013 as the new Android flagship smartphone with IP55 and IP56 certification for water and dust resistant capabilities. The smartphone feature a 5-inch full-HD Reality Display with Sony’s own Mobile BRAVIA Engine technology. The Xperia Z smartphone is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro processor with Adreno 320 GPU and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system out of the box and the company will soon release the Android 4.2 update in the near future.
For photography, the Xperia Z has an impressive 13-megapixel Exmor RS sensor on the rear which is also coined as a Fast Capture camera. The camera is also supports HDR and full-HD video recording at 1080p, there is a front-facing 2-megapixel camera is also available for video conferencing and VoIP calling support. For storage, the Xperia Z has 16GB of internal storage along with a microSD card support up to 64GB.
In terms of connectivity, the Xperia Z has Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, NFC and a microUSB port. The smartphone packs with a 2,330mAh battery and feature a slimness of 7.9mm with 149 grams weight.

Sony India has partnered with Vodafone to provide 8GB free data download for first two months after the purchase of the Xperia Z smartphone. The Xperia Z will also have pre-installed Sony LIV app which will provide TV service of Sony network channels onto the smartphone and users can also watch more than 5.400 stored videos right from the Sony TV channels.
Sony is also going to give a complimentary Premium Case with the Xperia Z worth Rs.1,990 for free, as a promotional offer.
