Sony Xperia V starts getting Android Jelly Bean update

As earlier promised, Sony Xperia V starts getting Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update in several regions including Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Estonia and Switzerland. The update is of course making way to other regions as well in the near future.

The Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update brings a new firmware version as 9.1.A.0.490. The new Jelly Bean update adds a number of new features along with some tweaks and improvements in the Xperia V. Though, there is no official changelog out by Sony but some of our sources confirmed that Google’s own Project Butter added in the update to improves the performance and user experience in the Xperia V and Google Now is also integrated as an enhancement.

Sony Xperia V was announced in the month of August, last year. The smartphone has 4.3-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. Sony also made the Xperia V under the certification of IP57, which makes the smartphone tougher with dust and water resistant capabilities. The Xperia V is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with Adreno 225 GPU and 1GB of RAM, there is 8GB of internal storage along with a microSD card support. The Xperia V smartphone comes with Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system out of the box and the new Jelly Bean update makes the smartphone more powerful and enhanced.

Users can now update their Xperia V (LT25i) smartphones by connecting through PC, using Sony’s proprietary application. The update schedule vary from region to region, so have patience, in case your Xperia V does not get the update till now.
