Sony Xperia P is all set to taste ICS

Sony is going to start upgrading the firmware of its famous Xperia P to Android 4.0(Ice Cream Sandwich) from today. A report by Sony Mobile’s official blog confirms that company have tested the firmware on its Xperia P and from today it is starting Android 4.0(ICS) firmware upgrade for the device. Upgrading rollout continues for next several weeks in all the markets globally. Company has also provide a list of features that will be added to Sony Xperia P after the upgrade, here is the list:

  • New ways to experience your media with new media applications – “WALKMAN”, “Album” and “Movies”
  • Extended standby mode, increasing standby time by up to four times (depending on user-profile and data consumption)
  • Lock screen with improved functionality
  • Resizable widgets for improved personalization
  • Improved control of your mobile data consumption
  • Recent Apps button for a clear overview of your applications

Sony hasn’t confirmed about the upgrade releasing date of Xperia P siblings, Xperia U, Xperia sola and Xperia go but give a hint in the end that they will also taste Android 4.0(ICS) shortly.
