Sony unveiled Xperia J along with several other Xperia 2012 lineup in IFA 2012, Berlin but the smartphone is not available in any market. Today some online retailers in India started taking pre-order of the mid-range Xperia J.
According to flipkart, the smartphone is expected to be delivered by the last week of October and the retailer is started taking pre-order with the retail price of Rs.16490 ($306 approx.). Another online retailer, infibeam started selling the Xperia J and promising delivery within two to three days. Price of the smartphone by infibeam is the same, however, there is another seller as Outletmall on the infibeam website demanding lesser price at Rs.15666 ($290.7 approx.).
The mid-range Xperia J has all the same specs which are desirable to be in mid-range Android segment, lets look on the specs. Xperia J has a 4-inch display with a resolution of 854 × 480 pixels. There is 5MP auto-focus camera on the rear with LED flash and VGA camera on the front as well. The smartphone is powered by a 1 GHz single-core Cortex-A5 processor packs on Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon chipset. There is 512MB of RAM for multi-tasking, 4GB of internal memory and there is a microSD card slot for memory expansion. The Xperia J comes with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) out of the box and the smartphone is also in the schedule of Jelly Bean update by Sony.
