Sony tries to grab Android smartphone market with large amount of share and as promotion, the company started giving 50GB cloud storage in partnering Box with every purchase of any Xperia smartphone. The promotional offer of 50GB free cloud storage was started last year and now the partnership of Sony and Box is extended till the end of 2013.
The offer actually based on the purchase of any Xperia smartphone exclude the Xperia X10, Xperia X10 mini, X10 mini pro and all the other devices prior to Android 2.1 (Eclair) platform. Users can avail the free storage for life by signing up or accessing the existing Box accounts from their devices before 31st December 2013. The free 50GB cloud storage is available through popular cloud service, Box. Users can store any contents on the cloud storage and view through any device by signing in to the Box account.
Well, the new promotional offer for free cloud storage will of course increases the sale of Sony Xperia smartphones as other competitors including HTC and Samsung offer 25GB and 50GB storage respectively through Dropbox, but the service is only valid for two years period which is undoubtedly much lesser than the storage offered by Sony.
