Sony introduces a new versatile range of Handycam camcorders at CES. The all new range of Handycam camcorders starts from $249 and packs with a variety of features as LED-based projector, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 3D camcorder as well.
On introducing a new range of Handycam camcorders, Hidenori Toyoda, director of the camcorder business at Sony Electronics said;
“As the leader in this category, each year we strive to improve upon our feature-rich camcorder family and innovate in ways that provide value to consumers. We’ve been listening to what people say they want in a premium video camera and continue to deliver on that feedback.”
All the new range of Handycam camcorders packed with Sony’s own Exmor R CMOS image sensor and Balanced Optical SteadyShot image stabilization for improved video and still captures and furthermore, the new range of camcorders offer up to 13 times more stable and smooth footage than its predecessors. All the models feature wide-angle lens with less than 30mm minimum focal length to capture shots.
Starting with the entry-level HD camcorders, the camcorders feature Full HD 60p 8.9-megapixels with 29.8mm wide angle Carl Zeiss Vario Tessar Lens along with 32x Extended Digital Zoom. The camcorders support AVCHD/MP4 recording and 2.7-inch LCD display and costs about $249 (Rs.13.7K approx.).
Moving towards the mid-range HD camcorders, the camcorders feature wide-angle 26.8mm Sony G Lens, 3″ 230K display and mic/headphone jack. The starting model, HDR-CX380V costs about $449. A model HDR-PJ380V camcorder also feature built-in projector with 13 lumen, an HDMI external device input, and Tracking Focus, the camcorder costs about $599 (Rs.33K approx.).
The high-end HD model feature 20.4-megapixels with wide-angle 26.8mm Sony G Lens with hood. The camcorders spot a 3.0-inch Xtra Fine LCD with 921K color production and there is a 0.27-inch color Electronic Viewfinder with 201K colors, also there is a built-in projector 20 lumen with external device input. The high-end camcorders starts at about $1099 (Rs.60K approx.).
Sony also introduces HDR-TD30V, the all new HD 3D camcorder feature double Sony Wide Angle G Lenses, double Exmor R CMOS 20.4-megapixels image sensors and there is double BIONZ image processors. Moreover, 3D viewing is also possible using the built-in 3.5-inch LCD even without using 3D glasses. The price is expected to be about $999 (Rs.55K approx.).
