These days Sony tries to grab the mid-segment Android smartphones market and taking a step further for 2013 as well, the company officially announced two new smartphones as the Xperia E and E dual. Both the smartphones are identical to each other with just a single major difference of dual SIM capability present in the Xperia E dual.
On announcing both the smartphones, Calum MacDougall, Director Xperia Marketing at Sony Mobile Communications said;
“Consumers looking to take their first steps into the world of Xperia smartphones would be well advised to look at Xperia E or Xperia E dual. They are perfect for those seeking affordable access to the quality and functionality more traditionally associated with high-end Android smartphones.”
Both the smartphones, Xperia E and E dual comes with 3.5-inch HVGA resolution display and 3.2MP camera on the rear, but no front-facing camera present on both the smartphones. The Xperia E comes with Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) operating system out of the box whereas, the Xperia E dual is based on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system with an expected update to Android 4.1 in the future.
Both, Xperia E and E dual are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A chipset with a processor of 1GHz clock-speed. In terms of memory, there is 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory (about 2.2GB user-available) along with microSD card slot for expansion.
Sony uses a battery of 1530mAh capacity in both the smartphones and claims for 6 hours of talk time and up to 530 hours of Standby on a 3G network. For music lovers, the battery is claimed to give backup for 30 hours and while watching videos it stands to give about 5 hours of backup.
Both the smartphones, Xperia E and E dual also packs with several features such as DLNA connectivity, HD voice and 3D surround sound. Sony Xperia E will be available in black, white and pink color options, on the other hand, the Xperia E Dual will be available in black and gold color options.

Both the smartphones will be up in the market in the first quarter of next year, however, pricing is yet to be disclosed by the company.
