Skype has released an update for its Skype for Windows Phone app to version 2.22. The updated Skype app comes with a couple of new features – location sharing and picture sharing – and brings notification controls for individual conversations.

The new location sharing feature on Skype 2.22 for Windows Phone allows users to share their current location with the people in their conversation. To turn on the location sharing feature, users need to tap ‘+’ icon in a chat and select ‘share location’.

Apart from location sharing, the updated Skype for Windows Phone has got the ability to save pictures that have been shared in chat. Users need to tap the image to enlarge it, then tap for more menu options and select ‘save photo’ to save the photos.

Lastly, the updated Skype for Windows Phone comes with an option to set notification controls for individual conversations. There is ‘notification’ option available under more options in each chat to enable users to turn notifications for that conversation on or off.

The updated Skype for Windows Phone is available for free download on Windows Phone Store. Notably, the updated app is only available for the devices running on Windows Phone 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 as there is no support for older Windows Phone platforms.
