Samsung has officially unveiled the Galaxy S4 hours ago but at the press event in New York, the company’s executives have not yet disclosed the schedule of launching the latest flagship smartphone in India. Some of our sources based in US have got news that the Samsung India would hold a press event just before the official launching schedule which is set to be in the beginning of May. And soon thereafter, the smartphone will be available in the Indian market.
Of course India is one of the major market for Samsung and its other competitors, however, from past few months the Korean giant taking quite long time in launching new smartphones in the country. On the other hand, smartphones as the Galaxy Ace 2, the Galaxy S III Mini and few more, even did not make their way officially to the Indian market. But this time, according to some sources, the flagship smartphone will reach to the Indian market as per the same schedule of some other markets.
According to the official announcement by Samsung Mobile, the Galaxy S4 will be available in over 155 countries and hopefully, India will also be one those countries. As far the carrier partner is concerned, Samsung would partnered with Vodafone and Airtel to provide full data supportive packages. Though, these partners will only offer 3G data plans as 4G-LTE support is not yet covered in the whole country and the TDD/FDD LTE Dual Mode version of the Galaxy S4 will also be available later this year.
We have got a confirmation soon after the event that the Galaxy S4 in India will be powered by an Exynos 5 Octa SoC and initially only the 16GB internal storage version will be available in the market. Coming towards the pricing, blurs there as no confirmation out, however, we presume that the Galaxy S4 will feature a price tag of Rs.40-45K. And of course, this price tag would be sufficient for the concern to be up in the competition as the competing smartphones, the Xperia Z and the HTC One feature such identical prices.
As a recap, the Galaxy S4 feature a 5-inch full-HD Super AMOLED display with Air View and Air Gesture support. The Galaxy S4 is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and PowerVR SGX 544MP3 GPU. For storage, the smartphone has 16GB/32GB/64GB storage options along with a microSD card slot for expansion. The all new Galaxy S4 comes with Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) OS out of the box and the latest TouchWiz Nature UX available on the top of it. A 13-megapixel camera is available on the rear along with an LED flash and a 2-megapixel camera is available on the front.
Features such as Dual Camera, Smart Scroll, Smart Pause, Samsung WatchOn, S Health, S Translator and more will be the USP of the smartphone and these features would also help the concern in earning more sales even than the previous flagships.
