Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and J7 Prime now official with fingerprint sensor and full-metal body
Samsung has expanded its Galaxy J series with launching the Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime in India. Both the new smartphones are targeted at the customers who are seeking affordable offerings with premium metal design and latest features like a fingerprint sensor and enhanced battery saver mode.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime both feature full-metal unibody build with a 2.5D Gorilla Glass protection on top. While the Galaxy J5 Prime has a 5-inch HD TFT display, the Galaxy J7 Prime comes with a 5.5-inch full HD display. The smartphones also have dual-SIM 4G support and a microSD card slot to expand their built-in storage by up to 256GB.
Samsung has provided Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system on both the Galaxy J5 Prime and Galaxy J7 Prime with its TouchWiz UX. Also, the smartphones come preloaded with features like S Power Planning and S Secure to distinguish the experience from other budget offerings.
The Galaxy J5 Prime is powered by a 1.4GHz octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and packs a 2,400mAh battery. The Galaxy J7 Prime, on the other hand, has a 1.6GHz octa-core Exynos processor with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and a 3,300mAh battery.
For capturing images, both the smartphones have a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor on the rear along with an F1.9 lens and LED flash. Also, the Galaxy J7 Prime comes with an 8-megapixel front camera sensor, while the Galaxy J5 Prime has a 5-megapixel front camera sensor.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime and Galaxy J5 Prime are debuted in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs. 14,790 and Rs. 18,790, respectively. Both the models have black and gold options.
