Samsung India has launched a new variant of the earlier launched Galaxy Grand, the new smartphone coined as Galaxy Grand Quattro (GT-I8552). Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro gets the official price tag of Rs.17,290 which is cheaper than the Galaxy Grand and on the hardware contrary, the Galaxy Grand Quattro features a quad-core processor while the Galaxy Grand has a dual-core processor.
On launching the Galaxy Grand Quattro in the Indian market, Vineet Taneja, Country Head, Samsung Mobile, said;
“Galaxy Grand Quattro is a revolutionary device that combines powerful performance with smart multitasking and advanced usability .Following the success of the Galaxy Grand introduced in January this year, we are confident that the Galaxy Grand Quattro will meet the needs of consumers looking for the ‘Grand’ experience in a slightly smaller display.”
The new Galaxy Grand Quattro has a smaller display of 4.7-inch with 480 x 800 pixels (WVGA) resolution. Samsung Galaxy Grand Quattro is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A5 processor with 1GB of RAM for multitasking support. For storing contents, the Galaxy Grand Quattro has 8GB internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expansion up to 32GB. The Galaxy Grand Quattro comes with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) operating system and there is TouchWiz UI on the top with motion support.
On the part of imagine solution, the Galaxy Grand Quattro has a 5-megapixel camera on the rear along with an LED flash and a VGA camera on the front. In terms of connectivity, there is Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, A-GPS and a microUSB port. The Galaxy Grand Quttro supports dual-SIM connectivity with dual standby and the smartphone packs with a 2000mAh battery.
