Samsung CEO confirms existence of mirrorless Galaxy Camera NX, pictures leaked
In an interview with press reporters in Seoul, Samsung CEO, JK Shin has confirmed the existence of the earlier rumoured mirrorless Galaxy Camera successor. And soon after the report arrived on the KoreaTimes, purported pictures of the successor leaked. According to the leaked report, the camera codenamed as GN100/120 which pointed towards the NX series and it is quite possible that Samsung would name the camera as Galaxy Camera NX.
During the press meet, JK Shin confirms about the upcoming Galaxy Camera successor and said;
“Samsung will release our latest mirrorless camera that runs on Google’s Android software.”
However, earlier the release schedule of the mirrorless Android camera was in blurs but now Shin has revealed that Samsung is planning to unveil the camera at the Premiere 2013 event where the Galaxy S4 lineup and new ATIV hybrids will be showcased.
Samsung earlier unveiled the NX 2000 and NX 300 cameras but these were just mirrorless cameras. Now the Korean giant is moving towards a smart mirrorless camera. As per the leaked pictures, the purported Galaxy Camera NX is having a DSLR-like body with an interchangeable lens support. Considering the rear monitor, the camera is running on Android Jelly Bean operating system with the latest TouchWiz UI on the top. The camera has Optical Image Stabilization lens and we presume that company will provide an 18-55mm lens with the camera, though there will be a wide variety of lenses for the upcoming mirrorless camera after its presence in the market.
The leaked sources were not able to provide much details on the specifications, however, we are quite sure that soon Samsung will come up with more details on the upcoming Galaxy Camera NX.
