Samsung announces Galaxy Young and Galaxy Fame as entry-level smartphones

Samsung has announced two new Android smartphones in the entry-level segment as the Galaxy Young and the Galaxy Fame. Interestingly, both the smartphones, even being in entry-level segment, come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system out of the box. Samsung also uses their own Motion UI with Smart Alert, Shake to update and Turn over to mute features, both, the Galaxy Young and the Galaxy Fame smartphones also come with dual-SIM option in certain regions.

Starting with the smaller one in the series, Samsung Galaxy Young has 3.27-inch TFT LCD display with 480 x 320 pixels (HVGA) resolution. The Galaxy Young is powered by a 1GHz processor with 768MB of RAM for decent multi-tasking support. There is 4GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot for expansion up to 64GB. The Galaxy Young has 3-megapixel camera on the rear which also supports video recording with up to VGA resolution at 24 frames per second. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v3.0 and a microUSB port for data syncing and charging.

Coming towards the Galaxy Fame, the smartphone has a larger 3.5-inch TFT display with HVGA resolution. The Galaxy Fame is powered by a 1GHz processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage along with a microSD card slot. The Galaxy Fame also feature a 5-megapixel auto-focus camera on the rear with an LED flash and a VGA camera is also available on the front for video calling capabilities. In terms of connectivity, the Galaxy Fame has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, microUSB port and an optional NFC support.

Samsung is also providing S Cloud storage options with both the smartphones, while the Galaxy Young also comes with pre-installed Dropbox integration for storing and sharing contents on the cloud using internet connectivity.
