Opera Mini for Windows Phone finally gets stable release

Months after the release of its beta version, Opera Mini for Windows Phone today finally got the stable release. The web browser is available for free download through Windows Phone Store.

Opera Mini for Windows Phone offers the same experience that was earlier exclusively available on Android and iOS platforms. There is a proprietary Data Savings feature to provide users efficient web browsing on their Windows Phone devices. The feature additionally provides data savings view on daily, weekly and yearly basis. Furthermore, there is an offline reading option to let users read web content even when they don’t have an internet access.

Interface of Opera Mini for Windows Phone sports a Speed Dial page that allows users to set favourite websites on the homescreen of the web browser and there is a combined address and search bar that searches keywords and phrases from Google directly by typing them into the address bar. In addition, the web browser has multi-tabbing support, just as on the default Internet Explorer, and a download manager to enable easily download of online content.

Opera Mini for Windows Phone is 3MB in size and is compatible with devices running on Windows Phone 8.1. Though the company has not yet revealed any details about releasing its stable version for Windows 10, it is expected to be available soon after the worldwide launch of the new platform next month.

Opera Software released the beta version of Opera Mini for Windows Phone in August last year and released an update in March with some noticeable changes.

Opera Mini has more than 250 million users across the globe, and it is the third-largest app in India with over 50 million users.
