Opera Coast 4.0 for iOS released with Opera Turbo data compression

Opera Software has released Opera Coast 4.0 for iOS. The updated Opera Coast web browser brings Opera Turbo data compression.

With Opera Turbo, Opera Coast now shrinks the web pages that users visit to save their data consumption as well as to speed up their browsing. This technology works while browsing on GPRS/Edge network or on crowded Wi-Fi hotspots. Users need to turn auto-compression on under automatic mode to enable Opera Turbo.

Apart from Opera Turbo integration, the updated Opera Coast for iOS brings Discover feature which lets users find stories and news from all over the Internet. This feature provides users related articles when they search in the updated Opera Coast.

The updated Opera Coast features share button which lets users share their favourite content in email, messenger or social networking apps like Facebook, Twitter, Vkontakte, WhatsApp and LINE. The web browser turns the link into a styled image and make it ready to caption and share like sending a web postcard.

Opera has additionally used Apple’s Continuity feature to enable Opera Coast to offer users a continuous web browsing experience across iOS running iPhone, iPad or iPod touch and Mac running MacBooks or iMac through Bluetooth and iCloud connectivity.

Lastly, the updated Opera Coast has landscape mode support to give iPhone 6 Plus users an advantage of using a large screen iPhone model. Users can now also open links in Opera Coast directly from Safari by using its share button and selecting the option to open in Opera Coast.

On announcing the release, Huib Kleinhout, Product Manager for Opera Coast, Opera Software, said:

“Great content is what drives the web, and also what should drive a great web browser, and that’s what the latest edition of Opera Coast for iPhone, iPad and iPod achieves. Speed is one of the top priorities for our users, and now they can get to their favorite content even faster.”

The updated Opera Coast is now available for free download through Apple App Store. The app is compatible with iOS 7.0 or later.
