OnePlus has announced that Cyanogen is rolling out Android Marshmallow update for the OnePlus One. The new Android version comes with the latest CyanogenMod version (CM 13.0) that was released last month.
Beijing-based OnePlus on Friday revealed that Cyanogen has now been dropping CM 13.0 (ZNH0EAS26M) for the OnePlus One. “Our friends over at Cyanogen have informed us that CM 13.0 (ZNH0EAS26M) based on Marshmallow will drop starting tomorrow. The rollout will be staged so only some of you (random) will get it at first, and as always, patience is appreciated,” the company wrote in a forum post.
Originally announced in November last year, the new software update brings Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow to the OnePlus smartphone. This new Android version has core Marshmallow features like Google Now on Tap and Doze. Additionally, there are proprietary changes such as fingerprint support for accessing protected content and a new message app.
The OnePlus One was launched in India back in December 2014 with Android 4.4 KitKat-based Cyanogen OS. In 2015, the Chinese company developed OxygenOS as its custom Android ROM to rival Cyanogen.
Last month, OnePlus released OxygenOS 3.0 public beta for the OnePlus 2. The new OxygenOS version brought Android Marshmallow to the latest flagship offering.
