Days after its debut in China, OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus 3T in India. The flagship smartphone was unveiled last week as the successor to the OnePlus 3 and is designed to take on Xiaomi Mi 5s.
OnePlus India recently teased the launch of the OnePlus 3T in the country through a tweet. “Guess who’s coming to town?” the tweet reads.
Alongside the social media teaser, OnePlus India chief Vikas Agarwal has confirmed the development plans and touted the launch as a “top priority” for the Chinese company.
“Getting the OnePlus 3T to India has been a top priority for us, and we are delighted to announce that we are all set to release the OnePlus 3T in India shortly!” Agarwal wrote in a forum post.
OnePlus hasn’t yet revealed the launch schedule. But it has planned a “Truth or Dare” round to announce the launch through its community in the country.
Improved OnePlus 3
The OnePlus 3T is appeared to be an improved version of the OnePlus 3, which was launched earlier this year. The smartphone comes with a faster, Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset against the Snapdragon 820 of the OnePlus 3 and packs a larger, 3,400mAh battery. Apart from these two major hardware tweaks, there isn’t any difference between the two OnePlus smartphones.
Just like the OnePlus 3, the latest flagship has a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution. It sports a 16-megapixel Samsung-made camera sensor on the rear and an 8-megapixel Sony camera sensor on the front with f/2.0 aperture lens. OnePlus has provided an aluminium build on the smartphone with “Soft Gold” and “Gun Metal” color options.
Shenzhen-based OnePlus is yet to reveal the price details of the OnePlus 3T in India. However, it was announced for the US market at $439 for 64GB storage variant, while its 128GB version will go on sale at $479. This suggests that the smartphone would arrive to the Indian market somewhere above Rs. 30,000.
