Its Design

Nokia Lumia 820 spots a 4.3-inch display and unlike the Lumia 920, the Lumia 820 feature a plastic construction with exchangeable covers. With the help of exchangeable covers, the battery is user-replaceable and there is a microSD card slot also present underneath the cover. Of course, there is a variety of color options available with the exchangeable cover, however, in the retail box there is no extra cover. So users have purchase the exchangeable cover by their own and multiple color option helps in choosing the perfect according to taste and preference. Three usual capacitive keys present on the front as a back, home and search. And in terms of ruggedness, the Lumia 820 does not feature the Gorilla Glass 2 as present on the elder, Lumia 920. The glass used in the Lumia 820 is also prone to scratches as well, the given preview unit also got a number of scratches, so the user have to use a screen-guard for the protection. Above the display, there is an earpiece, secondary camera and a couple of sensors as proximity and ambient light sensors.

The Lumia 820 is neither the slimmest nor the fattest smartphone, with decent built and luxurious construction design, the smartphone is easy to carry in any sized pocket and the weight is also slimmed down to 160g rather than the heavy weight on the Lumia 920.

On one side, there are a volume rocker, power/lock button and a camera button present, while on the other side there is no button, same as the Lumia 920. The Lumia 820 also feature curvy design on the either sides of the frame but there is no swell-up on the rear, as the elder brother.

On the top frame of the Lumia 820, there is a 3.5mm jack and on the bottom, there is a microUSB port and the speaker. Turning the back, there is an 8MP camera along with dual LED flash and the Carl Zeiss brand name shown on the chrome plate. Taking out the back exchangeable cover shows the battery, microSIM tray and a microSD card slot.
