Nokia Asha 501 will be available in India from next week for Rs.5,199

Nokia has just announced the availability status of the Asha 501. Recently the feature phone came up for pre-order in India for the price of Rs.5,199 and now the Finnish manufacturer has announced that Nokia Asha 501 will be available in India by next week, the phone will debut in Pakistan and Thailand from this week. In subsequent weeks, the Asha 501 will be available across countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

On announcing the availability status of Nokia Asha 501, Timo Toikkanen, executive vice president, Mobile Phones, Nokia said;

“The new Nokia Asha 501 helps people quickly access everything they love with just a simple swipe. Coupled with beautiful design, it’s a smartphone with both style and substance, offered at a great price.”

Nokia Asha 501 was originally unveiled in India last month. The company suggested the price tag of $99 before taxes and local subsidies. The Asha 501 is the latest offering by Nokia in the new Asha series with all new Asha UI. The Asha 501 is a dual-SIM feature phone with dual-standby support. There is a 3-inch touchscreen display and a 3.2-megapixel camera is available on the rear. In terms of connectivity, the phone has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a microUSB port. On the main USP, the Asha 501 packs with a 1200mAh battery which is claimed to provide 624 hours of standby time against single charge.
