Recently Google has also added a support to get full-screen compose window by clicking on the expand button in the top right of the new window.

The new compose interface provides clutter-free experience to the end-user while composing an email. The new interface opens drafts as a minimizable window which allows to write multiple drafts as well as to keep an eye on the new mails, right at the same time. With the new interface, users can now insert inline images within their emails and also the new interface allows to drag and drop new address chips between multiple sender areas.
