Microsoft is all-set to fulfill the promise that its CEO Satya Nadella made at the Future Unleashed event in Mumbai and is finally launching the anticipated Surface Pro 4 in India. The launch is scheduled for January 7, at a press event in New Delhi.

The invite confirms the launch of the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 as it reads, “Start fresh on brand new surface”. However, details about its price and availability are yet to be revealed.

Originally announced at Windows 10 event in October, the Surface Pro 4 is Microsoft’s rival against Apple’s iPad Pro. The tablet features a 12.3-inch PixelTouch display with 2736 x 1824 pixels resolution that makes a pixel density of 267ppi. Under the hood, there is a sixth-generation Intel Core (Skylake) processor with up to Intel Iris Graphics and 16GB RAM.

The tablet comes in a variety of storage options, starting from 128GB to 1TB. It runs on Windows 10 operating system out of the box that helps delivering up to 50 percent faster performance over the MacBook Air and up to 30 percent faster experience than the preceeding Surface tablet.

Microsoft has additionally offered a Surface Pen that is claimed to detect as many as 1,024 points of pressure. The magnetic stylus pen is specifically designed for the Surface Pro tablet and comes with a built-in eraser. Furthermore, there is a Type Cover that sports a chiclet-style keyboard and a glass touchpad.

The Surface tablet has an 8-megapixel rear camer sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor. Besides, it is claimed to deliver up to nine hours of video playback on a single charge.
