Microsoft has released the awaited Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers for iOS running devices including iPhone and iPod touch. The Office Mobile app allows to view, edit and create documents on the iOS platform with Office 365 subscriptions.
Microsoft Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers provides a support to the iOS users to access, view and edit their Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint documents from their devices using an Office 365 account. Users can store their edited contents onto the cloud on SkyDrive, SkyDrive Pro, or SharePoint. The Office Mobile app needs a continuous Internet connection for syncing the documents and there is also an option to view recent documents, which were edited or created on the desktops, right on to the iOS devices with recent documents panel.
Users can also attach their existing documents with email messages just from Mobile Office. For enhanced experience on the small screens, Microsoft has provided charts, animations, SmartArt Graphics and shapes in the Mobile Office app. Users can also browse PowerPoint slides onto their iOS devices with built-in Slide Navigator view. However, the Office 365 integration needs a continuous Internet connection but there is also a feature as Edit While Offline which allows to edit the documents even in the offline mode and the app itself save the document on the cloud when the device reconnects to the network or to Wi-Fi.
The Office Mobile has some drawbacks as well. The app does not allow to create PowerPoint slides on the iOS devices. Currently the app is only available for iPhone 4, 4S, and 5, iPod Touch 5th Generation running on iOS 6.1 or above. Users can download the Office Mobile for Office 365 subscribers app freely from Apple App Store.
