LG today announced the launch of its 4K OLED TV in India that is claimed to be the world’s first 4K OLED TV. The new TV comes with a starting price of Rs. 3,84,900.

The LG 4K OLED TV comes in two models – 33-inch and 55-inch. While the 33-inch 4K OLED TV comes with a price tag of Rs. 3,84,900, the 55-inch 4K OLED TV is priced at Rs. 5,79,900. Both the models have the same list of features and are based on LG’s WebOS 2.0 Smart TV operating system that was announced at the CES earlier this year.

LG has provided its proprietary WRGB panel technology on the 4K OLED TV that delivers four-color pixels and offers a total of 33 million color sub-pixels and self-lighting pixels. The TV comes in a slender Art Slim design frame that has 5.9mm thickness. In addition, there is an advanced sound technology by Harman Kardon.

The new LG 4K OLED TV comes bundled with a unique Magic Motion Remote Control that has a simple point-and-click feature as well as offers scroll function. The remote additionally comes with Voice Recognition feature that provides users an ability to simply pass their voice notes for operating the TV. Besides, there is Universal Control functionality that enables users to control most of their devices connected with the TV directly using the remote control.

On announcing the launch, Howard Lee, Director-Home Entertainment, LG India, said:

“Once again LG has proved that it is a frontrunner when it comes to innovative technology. With the LG 4K OLED TV, we promise consumers in India the ultimate immersive cinematic experience. Time and again we have initiated groundbreaking innovation and raised the bar not only for ourselves, but for the industry as well. This latest OLED TV underscores LG’s commitment to bringing the best in home entertainment to our consumers.”

The LG 4K OLED TV will be available for purchase in the country through select LG Brand stores.

LG’s startegy with launching the 4K OLED TV is appeared to take on Samsung’s SUHD curved TV models that were launched in India back in June. Moreover, the new OLED TV can also considered to be a strong competitor against Sony’s BRAVIA range of Android TV lineup that reached to the country last month.
