Lenovo today announced the launch of the Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m smartphones in India. Both the new smartphones come with massive battery packs, and will be exclusively available through Flipkart starting October 27.
While the Lenovo Vibe P1 will go on open sale starting October 27 with a price tag of Rs. 15,999, the Vibe P1m will be available through flash sales from October 28 with a price tag of Rs. 7,999. Registrations from the first sale round will begin starting 6 p.m. today.
The Lenovo Vibe P1 packs a 5,000mAh battery that is claimed to deliver up to 44 hours of talk time and the Vibe P1m has a 3,900mAh battery that delivers up to 16 hours of talk time. Apart from long battery life, both the smartphones have fast charging support as well as sport a physical power saver switch to instantly extend battery life. The smartphones also have OTG charging functionality to let users easily charge any of their other USB-powered devices right from their built-in battery packs.
As a mid-range smartphone, the Lenovo Vibe P1 features a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and is powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor. There is Adreno 405 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage along with microSD card support. Also, the smartphone has a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor along with dual-LED flash, 5-megapixel front camera sensor and dual-SIM support with 4G LTE connectivity.
The Lenovo Vibe P1m, on the other hand, is an affordable offering by the company to take on some of the entry-level smartphones with a 5-inch 720p display and an quad-core processor. The smartphone has 2GB of RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 8-megapixel rear camera sensor and a 5-megapixel front camera sensor.
Both the new Lenovo smartphones run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box along with proprietary Vibe UI on top. The smartphones also have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and microUSB port on the connectivity front.
