Lenovo has launched its new affordable smartphone in India with a price tag of Rs. 12,999. Called as the Lenovo S60, the new smartphone will go on sale in the country through the company’s TheDoStore as well as available through Amazon India and Flipkart.
The Lenovo S60 is the newest model in the company’s S series smartphones. It runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system out of the with Vibe 2.0 UI on top and is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Featuring a 5-inch IPS display, the Lenovo S60 has 1,280 x 720 pixels (HD) resolution and is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset that has a 1.2GHz octa-core CPU and 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has 8GB internal storage along with microSD card support for expansion up to 32GB.
There is a 13-megapixel rear camera sensor along with an LED flash and a 5-megapixel camera sensor is available on the front. The smartphone has some software tweaks such as scene detection, HDR and burst shot to improve imaging results.
Lenovo has provided dual-SIM card support on the S60 with dual-standby technology. In addition, there is Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and a microUSB port.
The Lenovo S60 packs a 2,150mAh battery that delivers up to 17 hours of talk time or up to 240 hours of standby time on 3G network. It comes pre-installed with proprietary DOit apps, including SECUREit, SHAREit and SYNCit.
Considering its specifications and price, the Lenovo S60 could face a tough competition by the recently launched Xiaomi Mi 4i.
