Lenovo has started rolling out the anticipated Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its K3 Note in India. The new update is rolling out as an over-the-air (OTA) release in a phase manner.
Originally based on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system, the Lenovo K3 Note has received the Android Marshmallow update with all the core features such as Doze power-saving mode, Direct Share feature and Google Now on Tap. The update additionally brings the company’s proprietary TheaterMax that was debuted on the Vibe K4 Note earlier this year.
“Along with the Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update K3 Note also get Lenovo’s personal cinematic experience through the TheaterMax. With TheaterMax, you can now pair your K3 Note with ANT VR Glass and convert all your favourite content (Videos, Games, Live Streaming, Youtube, etc.) into a full-blown virtual cinematic experience,” Lenovo says in a press note.
Unlike an in-built technology, TheaterMax is now claimed to be a “deeply integrated solution”. The software-based feature doesn’t required specific VR content and can turn existing media and games on your K3 Note into an immersive experience that you can watch using any VR headset like the ANT VR.
You’ll receive a push notification following the arrival of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for your Lenovo K3 Note. However, you can manually check its availability by going to ‘System Update’ from the ‘About Phone’ settings.
As the update is over a gigabyte in size, you’re recommended to use an active Wi-Fi network to download the update package.
In case you’re unaware of the K3 Note, this was launched in June last year with a price tag of Rs. 9,999. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch 1080p display and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor. Further, it has a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB expandable storage.
Lenovo has so far sold over 1.5 million units of the K3 Note, surpassed the mark of a million sales in last November.
