LeEco Le 1s, Le Max launched in India with price starts from Rs. 10,999

After much anticipation, LeEco today formally entered India by launching the Le 1s and Le Max. Both the new smartphones sport full-metal aircraft grade aluminium unibody designs and come with a starting price of Rs. 10,999.

The LeEco Le 1s is the entry-level offering by the Chinese company. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 10,999 and features a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution. Under the hood, there is a 64-bit MediaTek Helio X10 chipset with an octa-core CPU, PowerVR G6200 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The smartphone has 32GB internal storage along with microSD card support for further expansion. It has a 13-megapixel ISOCELL camera sensor on the rear and F2.0 aperture and a 5-megapixel Samsung S5K5E2 camera sensor on the front. Further, it packs a 3,000mAh battery and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop-based EUI 5.5 skin that has some proprietary features.

Apart from the Le 1s, LeEco brought the Le Max as its flagship offering to the Indian market. The 32GB Silver LeEco Le Max comes for Rs. 32,999, whereas the 128GB Gold variant is priced at Rs. 36,999 and the 128GB Sapphire variant is priced at Rs. 69,999.

All the three variants of the Le Max have the same hardware. This includes a 6.33-inch display with 2560 x 1440 pixels (QHD) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone has a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset with an octa-core CPU, Adreno 430 GPU and 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM.

There is a 21-megapixel Sony IMX230 rear camera sensor with F2.0 aperture and dual-LED flash and a 4-megapixel (Ultrapixel) OmniVision OV4688 front camera sensor with an 81.6-degree wide-angle lens. The smartphone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with EUI on top. Besides, it packs a 3,400mAh battery.

Beijing-based LeEco, formally known as Letv, has partnered with Eros Film and YuppTV. Through these partnerships, the company will start offering local content on the new smartphones in the second quarter of this year.

In addition, LeEco has tied-up with e-commerce company Flipkart to exclusively sell its new smartphones through flash sales in the country. The LeEco Le 1s will be available for purchase through the first flash sale round on February 2, while the sale for the Le Max will begin starting February 16. The company is initially bringing 60,000 units of the Le 1s to kick-start its Indian journey.

LeEco is offering one-year warranty on both of its new smartphones and is providing a multi-language service support to consumers. The company is planning to establish a network of 555 service centres in India to deliver after sales services. Moreover, there are plans to build a large-scale R&D centre in Bengaluru sometime later this year to localise the development of smartphones, Super TV, accessories, LeCloud and LeMall.
