Lava Iris X1 Grand, Iris Fuel 50 start getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update

Lava International has announced that it has released Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Lava Iris X1 Grand and Lava Iris Fuel 50 smartphones. The update is rolling out as a free over-the-air (OTA) update.

In a blog post, the company reveals that both the smartphones will get new battery saver mode, Priority features through Interruptions option, an improved notification panel with Quick Settings integration and an upgraded Multitasking experience. The Lollipop update additionally brings Google’s Material Design language with vivid colors, bold fonts and new animation effects.

Users are recommended to use an active Wi-Fi connection or an unlimited high-speed data access to download the Android Lollipop update on their smartphones.

Although, update notification would available to the smartphone units in the form of a push notification, users can manually check its availability by going to Settings > About phone > System updates.

The Lava Iris X1 Grand was launched in India back in January this year, while the launch of the Lava Iris Fuel 50 was announced in October last year. Both the smartphones by default run on Android KitKat operating system and are powered by 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Besides, there is a 5-inch FWVGA display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB expandable storage.
