Lava Iris X1 Atom with quad-core processor launched in India for Rs. 4,444

Lava International Ltd today launched the Lava Iris X1 Atom smartphone in India. With a price tag of Rs. 4,444, the new smartphone sits in the entry-level segment, but offers quad-core processing power.

The Lava Iris X1 Atom has a 4-inch display with 800 x 480 pixels (WVGA) resolution. There is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor along with 512MB of RAM. The smartphone has 4GB internal storage and a microSD card support for expansion up to 32GB.

There is a 5-megapixel PureCel camera sensor on the rear along with an LED flash and a VGA camera sensor is available on the front to let users capture their selfies and use VoIP services. The Iris X1 Atom has Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, A-GPS and a microUSB port and comes with dual-SIM support.

The Lava Iris X1 Atom runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and the company has promised to provide Android 5.0 Lollipop update. In addition, there are proprietary features such as Smart Swipe, Smart View, Double Tap and Active Shot.

Besides, it packs a 1,750mAh battery and comes in White Silver, Black Silver and Black Gold color options.

Lava will start selling the Iris X1 Atom in India through major retail stores, multi-brand outlets and e-commerce portals beginning next week.
