iOS 9 on iPad also brings an easy and faster typing experience. There is a Shortcut Bar that provides actions on the basis of the apps that are available on the screen. In addition, there are Multi-Touch gestures that take typing on iOS to a whole new level.

For all iOS devices, iOS 9 is claimed to improve battery life using new battery optimisation techniques. The operating system particularly on iPhone 6 provides an additional hour of battery life. Users can further expand the battery life through enabling low-power mode that seems to be a competitor of battery saver mode that Google developed for Android Lollipop.

Besides, Apple iOS 9 includes updated Apple Maps, Notes and Apple Pay integration. The new operating system also has Apple HomeKit integration.

iOS 9 will be available as a beta software for iOS Developer Program members starting today, while devices running on iOS 8 will receive iOS 9 update on their compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch this fall.

The list of iOS 9 compatible devices includes iPhone 4s and later, iPod touch 5th generation, iPad 2 and later and iPad mini and later.

Apple has additionally released Swift 2 with new features to let developers start producing new iOS apps at a faster pace than ever before. The language includes an all-new Swift compiler and standard library which both will be available later this year.
