Intel announces fifth-gen Intel Core (Broadwell-H) processors with new Iris Pro graphics
Intel Corp today announced its fifth-generation Intel Core (Broadwell-H) at the ongoing Computex 2015 in Taiwan. The new range of processors have high-end Iris Pro graphics 6200 and up to 6MB L3 cache to offer faster computing experience than the fourth-generation Core processors.
The fifth-generation Intel Core processors come in LGA form factor and feature lower-power, 65-watt thermal design point (TDP). The flagship processor in the new range, Intel Core i7-5775C, is claimed to deliver up to 35 percent better media performance and over two times better graphics performance than the previously launched 65-watt Intel Core i7-4790S.
Intel has provided the all-new Intel Iris Pro graphics 6200 on most of the fifth-generation Intel Core processors to deliver up to two times better 3D graphics performance, 35 percent faster video conversion and 20 percent improved compute performance over the previous generation processors.
There are total ten models available under the fifth-generation Intel Core processors range that include five new desktop SKUs and five new 47-watt mobile processors. The range also has Intel Core i7-5950HQ that is claimed to offer up to 95 percent better media performance and up to two times 3D performance compared to the current generation 15-watt Intel Core i7-5600U mobile processor.
The new range of Intel Core (Broadwell-H) processors will be available in the next 30 to 60 days. It comes with a starting price of $244 and goes up to $623.
