Instagram has updated its Web presence with adding a search functionality to let you search people, places and hashtags. The search functionality was originally available on Instagram mobile apps.
Facebook-owned Instagram announced the new update through a tweet from its official Twitter account. The tweet shows that you can now search for people, places or hashtags using a new search bar on Instagram Web.
Apart from the new search bar, the updated Instagram includes new pages for tags and locations to make it easy for users to view some of the popular related images.
The updated Instagram on the Web has been started rolling out globally and is accessible through the official address.
Unlike Instagram on mobile devices, its Web presence delivers an inferior experience. The service is available just as a companion to its mobile apps. However, the new update would give a reason to some users to access Instagram from their desktops.
Instagram recently updated its Android and iOS apps with trending tags and places to give a tough competition to Twitter. The update had “completely reimagined” the Explore page with adding trending tags and places that show all the latest trends under one roof.
