The Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus is a great option if battery life is your prime concern. It surpasses the trend of one-day battery life as well as offers you the reverse charge option.
Battery life is one of the most significant concerns that not only hit consumers but is also adversely affecting the sales of many smartphone vendors. This is far bigger than the debate on camera quality or screen resolution. Moreover, it’s related to the soul of the devices that you’ve been regularly using in your life. Huawei has just attempted to resolve the unpopular issue of low battery life on smartphones by launching the Honor Holly 2 Plus in India last week. This new smartphone has a massive battery pack that delivers more power than most of the affordable offerings. It is capable of charging other smartphones, too.
We started using the Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus to test its performance, and to know how this could combat all the battery life concerns. So here begins our in-depth review.
What’s in the Box
The Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus is available as the successor to the Honor Holly with a price tag of Rs. 8,499. Although the company hadn’t sent us the retail box, you’ll receive it with the handset as well as an AC charger, data cable and a user manual.
Huawei has maintained the cost by using plastic on the Honor Holly 2 Plus. However, there is a metal finish frame and a textured back panel.
The front of the Honor Holly 2 Plus has a display panel with a scratch-resistant glass protection on top. There aren’t any physical keys available on the front as the smartphone offers on-screen keys. You’ll notice a matrix pattern in direct sunlight that distinguishes the display panel from its bezels. Besides, there is an earpiece, secondary camera sensor, notification LED light and ambient as well as proximity sensors.
On the right side, there is a volume rocker and a power/lock key with the same metal finish that available on the frame. But the left side is completely bare with no control.
The bottom of the Honor Holly 2 Plus has a microUSB port and two loudspeaker grills. These appear to have two speakers to enable stereo sound. But in reality, there is a mono speaker under one grill and the other grill hides a primary microphone.
On the top, the smartphone has a 3.5mm jack.
Huawei has designed the rear panel of the Honor Holly 2 Plus with a premium plastic material that has several microcosmic planes to produce different textures. It prevents the incidents of accidental slips and provides better grip in hand. Also, there is Honor branding and a primary camera sensor with an LED flash and a secondary microphone.
The rear panel is removable, and hides two SIM card slots and a microSD card slot. You’ll also find the large battery pack that embedded on the back side and is non-replaceable by end users.
The Huawei Honor Holly 2 Plus weighs 160 grams and comes in a 9.7mm thick chassis. It has nearly a 72mm width and 143mm height.
