Huawei Honor 6X with dual-lens camera launched for 12,999

Expanding its affordable smartphone lineup, Huawei today launched the Honor 6X in India. The new smartphone comes with a dual-lens camera and is debuted with a starting price of Rs. 12,999.

The Huawei Honor 6X will go on sale through Amazon starting February 2. While its 3GB variant will be available at Rs. 12,999, the Honor 6X 4GB version will come with a price tag of Rs. 15,999.

Originally showcased at the CES 2017, the Huawei Honor 6X is the successor to the company’s Honor 5X. The new smartphone is targeted at “young and bold” consumers who are seeking an all-rounder option. It comes with a 5.5-inch IPS display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (full-HD) resolution and features a 2.5D glass on the front.

The Honor 6X runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with EMUI that comes in 14 local languages, including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu among others. The custom interface also comes with an SOS button that acts as an emergency alarm.

Huawei has provided its HiSilicon Kirin 655 chipset on the Honor 6X with four cores of Cortex-A53 CPU clocked at 2.1GHz and four cores at 1.7GHz. Additionally, the smartphone has 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of onboard storage.

The Honor 6X has the dual-lens camera setup on the rear with a 12-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. This combination enables a wide aperture range between f/0.95 and f/16 to offer an enhanced bokeh effect. Also, the smartphone has an LED flash on the rear and comes with an 8-megapixel front camera sensor.

The smartphone packs a 3,340mAh battery and comes in grey, gold and silver color options. It has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, Infrared and a microUSB port.

“The Honor 6X has been launched to represent dual benefits of great price point coupled with best in class features. We have designed Honor 6X keeping in mind the youth of India and their discerning needs,” said Peter Zhai, president, Huawei India.

The Honor 6X comes bundled with a three-month additional warranty and a touchscreen replacement in the first month. Registrations for its 3GB variant will begin on Amazon starting January 31, and the sale will be held on February 2.
