Overview

  • Pros:

    HTC Sense UI
    BlinkFeed integration
    Decent audio experience
    Solid built

  • Cons:

    Dated Android OS
    Inferior camera performance
    Poor display

  • Conclusion:

The HTC Desire 326G Dual SIM could be the best pick for novices who are looking for an affordable branded smartphone. However, it does not have anything to compete against any of the popular affordable smartphones in today's market.

While Android is getting bigger with a rapid growth in the worldwide smartphone market, HTC, which brought the world’s first Android smartphone, has started facing hardships in the market. The hardships exist not only due to the cut-throat competition in the market but also because of some poor marketing tactics of the Taiwanese company itself. To improve its market position, HTC this year diversified its range of devices. The Desire 326G Dual SIM is one of the main offerings from the diversified range and is perhaps the most cheapest HTC smartphone. The company launched this new smartphone in India in the recent past. Moreover, the smartphone appears to be targeted to the novices, the one who are moving from a feature phone to a smartphone, and thus, it is priced under Rs. 10,000. We got our unit a couple of weeks ago to cover an in-depth review. So here are our words on HTC Desire 326G Dual SIM.

What’s in the Box

As we got a review unit of the HTC Desire 326G Dual SIM, the box is not as same as that of the retail unit. However, the in-box content as the same.

Once unboxed, the HTC Desire 326G Dual SIM box shows the smartphone unit on top, and there is a headset, data cable, AC charger and a battery pack underneath it. The quality of the in-box content is justifying the price of Rs. 9,590 at which the smartphone was launched in India last month.

Design

HTC often use metal on its flagship smartphones to give a premium look and feel, but there is no metal on the Desire 326G Dual SIM to maintain its cost. The smartphone comes in White Birch and Black Onxy color options and we got the latter one.

The front of the HTC Desire 326G Dual SIM shows the same design that debuted on some mid-range Desire series offerings. There is a display panel with thick bezels, and HTC branding is available just below the display panel. The company has provided two loudspeaker grill on the frontal panel to give a look of its BoomSound surround sound technology. However, there is just one loudspeaker on the bottom and the top grill has an earpiece. A secondary camera sensor as well as a proximity sensor and an ambient light sensor are also available on the front side.
