HTC 10, One X9 and Desire 825 launched in India

HTC today officially launched the awaited HTC 10 flagship in India. The new launch also brings the One X9 and Desire 825 as the two new smartphones by the Taiwanese company.

Originally launched in April, the HTC 10 is the company’s latest flagship smartphone. It comes with a price tag of Rs. 52,990 to compete against high-end offerings like the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Apple iPhone 6s.

The HTC 10 features a 5.2-inch Super LCD5 display with curved-edge Gorilla Glass protection and QHD (2560x1440pixel) resolution. Under the hood, the flagship device has a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset with a 2.2GHz quad-core CPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage.

HTC has provided a 12-megapixel (Ultrapixel 2) camera sensor on the rear side of the flagship with laser autofocus technology and optical image stabilisation (OIS). For capturing selfies, the new HTC smartphone has a 5-megapixel front camera sensor with OIS support and f/1.8 aperture lens.

The smartphone has 4G LTE support to deliver high-speed data access. Additionally, it comes with features like Dolby Audio, BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition and a fingerprint sensor. There is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS, NFC and a USB Type-C port on the connectivity front.

Apart from the HTC 10, the company showcased the HTC One X9 and Desire 825 at its event in New Delhi. The HTC Desire 628 and Desire 830 has also been launched as two new affordable smartphones.

While the HTC One X9 comes with a price tag of Rs. 25,990 and the Desire 825 is priced at Rs. 18,990, the Desire 628 comes at Rs. 13,990. The company hasn’t announced the price of the Desire 630 yet. But it would emerge in the coming weeks.

“We are pleased to launch our all-new range of smartphones in the HTC One and Desire categories,” said Faisal Siddiqui, President HTC South Asia, in a statement. “We strongly believe our flagship HTC 10, the HTC One X9, and our youthful Desire smartphones will capture the mindshare of our consumers.”

All the new HTC smartphone models run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system out of the box, with Sense UI on top. The smartphones will go on sale in the Indian market starting June.
